INTRODUCTION"Christian Discipleship Within A Caring Community"
The founders of BICS believed, and still believe, that the integration of classroom learning and travel in Bible lands lays a solid foundation for spiritual growth. In addition, a commitment to personal counseling and encouragement by a professional and warm-hearted faculty and staff seeks to ensure the success of each student in serving the Lord throughout their lives. I think you will find the following description of the Institute's program unique in many ways. BICS has positioned the educational components of the program solidly within the Bible college tradition. From the beginning, our philosophical and educational orientation has risen out of the conviction that God's Word must be the focus of the curriculum. We believe that His Word is truth and that it is authoritative in all it teaches. We further consider it our solemn responsibility to call the student to yield heart and mind to the Lord Who so graciously reveals Himself therein. In August of 2002, BICS added a second year to the curriculum to give an opportunity for students to examine the call of God to vocational ministry through classroom learning and actual experiences within service venues. It is hoped that they will have opportunity to use their gifts and to find affirmation of God's direction in their lives under the mentoring of faculty, staff and supervisors in various fields of ministry. Thank you for your interest in the discipleship program at BICS. If you have further questions after reading this material, please let us know how we can assist you in learning more about our effort. An informational video describing our program is available for the asking. Steve Brown |
